Don Ernesto opened its doors on February 14, 2022, with a clear vision: to offer an authentic Costa Rican experience in harmony with nature. Located in the heart of the San José Mountains, and just 20 minutes from Juan Santamaría International Airport, the hotel was created as a place of tranquility, connection, and discovery.
Set within a 74-hectare coffee estate, Don Ernesto invites guests to experience Costa Rica in its purest form. From waking up to the songs of birds to walking along private trails surrounded by lush landscapes, every moment reflects a deep respect for the land. Here, visitors can also learn about the world of coffee in the very place where it is grown, honoring a tradition that has shaped the region for generations.
Our rooms are lovingly inspired by traditional Costa Rican fincas country houses that blend rustic charm with authentic comfort. Each of our cozy casitas, more than 30 years old, carries its own unique history. Once classrooms of a Spanish language school for international visitors, they have been thoughtfully restored and transformed into welcoming guest rooms that honor their past while offering modern amenities and tranquility.
